Welcome to my home page

My research is mainly related to the field of Quaternary Geochronology and the analysis of palaeoclimate records such as speleothems and U-series based chronologies for archaeological sites and artefacts. I studied physics at the University of Karlsruhe and the University of Heidelberg (both Germany). For the physics Diplom and then my Dr. degree I specialised in physics applied to Earth Sciences at the Institute of Environmental Physics, University of Heidelberg.
I worked seven years at the University of Bristol (UK), within the Bristol Intiative for a Dynamic Global Environment (BRIDGE), housed at the School of Geographical Sciences and the Bristol Isotope Group (BIG), housed at the School of Earth Sciences. Between 2009 and 2014 I spent over four years setting up and running a new U-series laboratory at the (CENIEH) in Spain. I currrently work at the Department of Human Evolution of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany.
